Feb 01 Moon Conjunct Mars Transit (Libra-Libra): Everything points to your taking the initiative today. You could feel great support from those around you, or circumstances could dictate your taking action. You feel healthy and natural.

Feb 01 Moon Enter Scorpio: Sex, power, and money are compelling aphrodisiacs now. Secrets, taboos, and mysteries appeal to a deep instinctive yearning. Learning what makes people tick turns you on. Your instinctive orientation at this time is toward getting down to brass tacks and starting over from scratch - healing comes from destroying the roots of a disturbance.

Feb 03 Moon Conjunct Saturn (Scorpio-Scorpio): A good time to consolidate and organize your affairs or rearrange your living situation. You could be seen by others as just the person to be put in charge of some project requiring a conservative mind. A tendency towards isolation and starkness.

Feb 04 Moon Enter Sagittarius: A feeling that anything is possible if you set your sights high enough characterizes the cycle you have just begun. There is optimism, there is faith, and there is a tendency to take chances at the deepest emotional levels. This is a time of exploring your feelings, a kind of restlessness for new emotional experience ... divine wanderlust, if you will

Feb 05 Moon Conjunct Venus in Sagittarius: You may be moved to appreciate and discover the beauty in your life and in those around you. At the same time, everything could take on added value and importance. Be careful that you don't overspend or indulge too much just now. Enjoy.

Feb 05 Venus Conjunct Mercury in Sagittarius: Perhaps a time to think and study, for you have a real appreciation for ideas and thoughts. You may find yourself enjoying a long conversation, writing a letter, or making a special phone call.

Feb 05 Moon Conjunct Mercury in Sagittarius: A good time to read a romantic book or take in a movie. Ideas and thoughts will have greater meaning and form just now. You may be very eloquent or forceful in speaking or communicating. People will understand just what you mean.

Feb 06 Moon Enter Capricorn Transit: Emotional seriousness, a sober orientation, and a practical awareness of the nature of time: these are keynotes of your deepest feelings now. There is a tendency to be too strict with yourself, to insist that whatever does not contribute to security and other long-term goals is trivial. Ambition is intensified.

Feb 07 Jupiter Trine Mercury: A clear-minded insight into your own plans and methods is available to you. A very good time to communicate your goals and put them into words. A good time for decisions.

Feb 07 Moon Conjunct Sun in Capricorn: This is a time when you can expect a little boost, some sort of extra support or recognition from those around you. You may feel that you are in touch and in harmony with others; the lines of communication are open. The support you need is there.

Feb 07 Mars Square Moon: Other people, or the general circumstances in which you find yourself at present, may unite to irritate or anger you. You could find yourself getting over-emotional and flying off the handle. A difficult time to relax and remain calm.

Feb 08 Mercury Enter Capricorn: Figuring out how to organize projects and people is apt to become a topic of special interest - and a challenge - at a time like this. Opinions are not enough for you now: they must be backed by authority or evidence, and above all they must have practical worth and application. A period of intense study and thought.

Feb 08 Moon Enter Aquarius: A sense of emotional coolness or detachment at the personal level, combined with an emphasis on idealism: such is the nature of the cycle you are now entering. It's ideas that count for you now, more than narrowly personal concerns - and you may have little tolerance for people who do not operate at this level. The new, the unusual, the avant garde - these are the things that instinctively appeal to you.

Feb 10 Moon Opposite Jupiter: Not perhaps the best time to make important decisions that affect your living situation or life circumstances. Others may challenge your authority or the direction you are taking. Events could conspire to make it difficult for you to act.

Feb 10 Moon Enter Pisces: Your life takes on a kind of mystical quality at the emotional and instinctive levels now. Dreams and illusions, forgiveness, and understanding human frailties: these things arouse deep feelings. The past and the future intermingle, and the barriers between people dissolve - there is the key to the greater psychic and spiritual sensitivity you feel now.

Feb 12 Venus Enter Capricorn: Marry for money and then learn to love 'em: that's what your heart tells you now, as a new cycle gets underway in your life. Does that sound cynical? Maybe so - but it does reflect the yearning you feel for security and stability now, and it suggests the kind of compromises you may be willing to make to accomplish these objectives.

Feb 12 Moon Enter Aries: You're entering a phase of emotional directness and impulsiveness now, one marked by forceful and powerful feelings. Emotional beginnings, a fresh start, perhaps the establishment of new habit patterns - make sure they're good ones, because they'll set the tone for you for quite some time to come!

Feb 13 Sun Enter Aquarius: This is a time when your path of self-development and expression becomes more and more unusual - setting you apart from the crowd and from all that is traditional. The new, the futuristic, the high-tech are the hallmarks of your lifestyle as the cycle gets underway. Ideas and technologies. that change the way people live - not just one person, but many - are a major new focus in your life. Involvement with ideals and idealistic groups enhances your sense of purpose and mission.

Feb 14 Moon Enter Taurus: A feeling of being at peace and stable on the emotional level comes into prominence at this time. Stability and permanence satisfy a deep emotional need. Music is likely to play a more important role for you than usual, and a period of material acquisition can satisfy a deep yearning to be free from want.

Feb 16 Moon Opposite Saturn: You might like to ignore responsibilities and do some socializing, but realities may demand that you tend to business and forget your friends for the moment. The crowd may ignore you and leave you (old sober-sides) to take care of business.

Feb 17 Moon Enter Gemini: You're entering a period of emotional change now: feeling two ways at once without getting too deep into either polarity is possible. Habits are in a cycle of change; variety satisfies a deep inner need. Being on the go and keeping a finger to the winds of change make you feel in touch. Learning and communicating scratch an instinctive itch.

Feb 18 Moon Opposite Venus in (Gemini-Sagittarius): Someone may challenge your values or good taste. Or, you could find it difficult to be appreciative of others at this time. Not the best time to shop, choose colors, and so on. You may not find much support for your particular tastes and values.

Feb 19 Moon Enter Cancer: Emotional security, a sense of belonging and nurturing: these issues are felt instinctively now. You want roots; you crave a sense of intimate connection that will last - a castle against the vicissitudes of the world, so to speak.

Feb 20 Mars Enter Scorpio join Saturn: Tear it down and build it up again, reach in and pluck out the offending element: that's what the new cycle you have entered is like. Power becomes a compelling idea, perhaps even an aphrodisiac - and you've got a stronger than usual supply of it now. Use it, don't abuse it - or you might find that it's a two-edged sword!

Feb 20 Mercury Conjunct Sun in Capricorn: You find yourself talkative and quick-witted today. Ideas are clear and easy to come by. This could be a good time for thinking over your own affairs. You may have a conversation with an older person or someone in authority.

Feb 20 Moon Opposite Sun (Cancer-Capricorn): You may find yourself somewhat at odds with those around you today. You may be unable to get the support you require or find that some of your supply lines have been diminished or cut off. Someone may challenge you.

Feb 21 Moon Enter Leo: A need to be the center of attention takes hold in your life now - a craving to give and to be appreciated for your gifts. This can be an expansive, creative, and even romantic phase, a time you'll look back on with pride and fondness.

Feb 23 Moon Conjunct Jupiter in Leo: You may find yourself serving to guide someone younger than you in matters of importance. Or, you may perceive how to proceed with plans and decisions in regard to your life situation.

Feb 24 Moon Enter Virgo: Taking care of business is a major theme where your emotional orientation is concerned now. You crave organization and practicality, and you want to get things accomplished. You aim to have a place for everything and everything in its place - and anything that gets in the way gets on your nerves. Health and work goals take on greater importance for you now.

Feb 24 Venus Conjunct Sun in Capricorn: You are in a (perhaps) rare mood of self-enjoyment and can appreciate your own better qualities. You may see value in or feel love for an older person or someone in authority.

Feb 26 Moon Enter Libra: Refinement and relationships are the keys to emotional satisfaction for you now. Harmony and beauty are deeply satisfying - and the lack of them can be emotionally unsettling. Close personal ties to other people are a focal point for your feelings - marriage and other partnerships could be a key arena for this.

Feb 29 Moon Enter Scorpio: Sex, power, and money are compelling aphrodisiacs now. Secrets, taboos, and mysteries appeal to a deep instinctive yearning. Learning what makes people tick turns you on. Your instinctive orientation at this time is toward getting down to brass tacks and starting over from scratch - healing comes from destroying the roots of a disturbance.

Jamini Astrology

Jaimini has become the second most widely used system of Vedic astrology in the world. Jaimini’s principles discussed in detail in the Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra. Technique used in Jaimini astrology gives remarkable and specific predictions using distinctly different methods.

The following are the major differences between Jaimini and Parasara astrology:

1. While Parasara astrology is most closely associated with the Vimsottari dasa system, Jaimini uses sign mahadasa systems. Each uses different dasa sequences and is calculated differently. These dasas are called Aries, Taurus, Gemini, etc. Chara, Sthira and Shoola dasas are the best known, though approximately 44 systems are used. For example, Chara is "movable" as its Sanskrit name implies and it signify major life changes as they occur. Sthira is read for death and illness, etc.

2. Jaimini uses padas as indicators in the signs. The best way to explain a pada is to illustrate it. Suppose we are looking for the marriage pada in a chart. The 7th house is the marriage house. Let us assume you have a Scorpio ascendant, so Taurus  is the 7th house.  The 7th ruler is therefore Venus and Venus placed in Aquarius in 4th house. This sign is ten signs away from Taurus (7th house).  Then count ten signs from Aquarius ( 4th house) to get the pada for marriage matters. Thus, the sign Scorpio is the marriage indicator for this chart. So issues connected with marriage and partnerships in general will reach fruition during the mahadasa or bhuktis of Scorpio sign dasa.

3. Parasara astrology uses certain "natural" planetary karakas. For example, Venus is the natural karaka for relationship and Mars is the karaka for siblings. However, in Jaimini astrology, the karakas can be any planet and they depend on the degree of the planets.
There are seven Jaimini karakas. They are judged in terms of the planetary degree placement, regardless of sign placement, from the planet in the highest degree to the lowest degree.

The karakas are, starting with the planet of the highest degree and they are like this:

1. Atma Karaka ( the planet holds highest degree) is the indicator of self. Atmakaraka planet the Own self, considered the strongest planet of all seven graha, and significator of the Soul, Self, physical appearance and vitality.

2. Amatya Karaka ( the planets holds the 2nd highest degree) is the indicator of helper of atma karaka. Significator of the hoard, collections of wealth, and career.

3. Bhadri Karaka ( the planets holds the 3rd highest degree) is the indicator of siblings.

4. Matri Karaka ( the planets holds the 4th highest degree) is the indicator of  mother and education, land property and peace.

5 Putra Karaka ( the planets holds the 5th highest degree) is the indicator of childrens, intelligence and creativity.

6. Gnati Karaka ( the planets holds the 6th highest degree) is the indicator of of strife, disease, dispute, Arguments, Strife and Service, conflict, and disease.

7. Stri or Dara Karaka ( the planets holds the 7th lowest degree) is the indicator of partner  marriage, partnerships in general.

These a karakar are different in different people birth chart because they depend on the degrees of the planets. These karakas are important in judging a chart, especially in terms of career and spiritual potential, as indicated in both the Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra
and the Jaimini Sutram.

In order to know the soul evolution (spiritual development) of the person, note which sign the Atma Karaka (planet in the highest degree in the birth chart) falls in in the Navamsa (harmonic 9th chart). This Navamsa sign is extremely important. In Jaimini Astrology this sign is referred to as the Karakamsa, and planets in this sign in the Navamsa chart are supposed to show the style of spiritual practices. The Navamsa position of the Atma Karaka planets falls in Navamsa chart called a Swamsa chart.

Mercury and Jupiter Retrograde 2016 Transit

January 5th Mercury begins its first retrograde period of 2016. Mercury is the planet of communications, rational thinking, ideas and reasons will be backwards faor the next three weeks.  Mercury retrograde should be observed be ready for misunderstandings delays in communications mistakes, transactions malfunctions with equipment and so forth.  Mercury will begin its retrograde phase in Capricorn and then back into Sagittarius on January 14th. Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius puts emphasis on the Sagittarius qualities, to be attached to one's own ideas and reasons. The thinking process and reasons flows backwards. Mars in Libra aspecting Mercury from 4th aspect affecting the planet of thinking giving additional push and makes the beginning all this retrograde more stress with problems than usual. Mars is the planet of impatience and anger impacting the planet of rational thinking and communications which is already behaving illogically.  Mercury is retrograde period lasts for three weeks ending in the last week of January.  Mercury will resume normal direct motion in Sagittarius on January 25th. So by the end of the month Mercury’s significations will be back to normal.

On January 8th begins its four months long retrograde. The planet of opportunity, prosperity, belief, wisdom truth and etc will be going in reverse for the next four months until May 9th. So Jupiter's significations will be delayed and distorted in jupiter retrograde time period. Jupiter is the planet of wisdom going back over the past translation a good time for finding wisdom from the past in other words self reflection because retrograde planets are self reflective. Jupiter is planet of opportunity and prosperity and when retrograde indicates finding opportunity in the past events, in other words what you miss in past now you may be interested in it. Mercury and Jupiter both being retrograde makes this month not so good for initiating important endeavors

On the same day that Jupiter goes retrograde the nodes (Rahu & Ketu) change signs. Rahu enters Leo and which puts it in direct contact with the newly retrograde Jupiter and further stress on Jupiter. Since Rahu who as an eclipse point and can obscure any planet in conjunction and loss and adds even more distortion to the already distorted significations of retrograde Jupiter.

Rahu and Ketu change signs, the moon's nodes travel backwards in the zodiac entering from the end of the sign.  Rahu the North node is entering Leo and Ketu the South node is entering Aquarius. The nodes stay about a year and a half in one sign. So when they change signs it's a significant astrological event which will impact everyone according to their house placement of Rahu and Ketu in their natal chart.  Rahu is an indicator of desire and disruption and Ketu is  indicator of let go and surrender. So Rahu will be obsessed over power and leadership as Leo is the sign of power and leadership and Ketu will be obsessed over letting go of society and will show disinterest because aquarius is the sign of sociality.
