Tara System in Jamini Astrology
‘Tara’ means Birth Star (nakshatra) and Tara is calculated to assess compatibility of the other planets nakshatra from the birth star of the individual. It gives clear picture of how the other planets have relationship with the birth star.
To calculate this, you need to take into account the Janma Nakshatra of the person and count in the numbers including janma nakshatra. Whatever numbers comes to the planets it shows what kind of result you will get in that planet mahadasha..
This system use for those people who don’t have their birth time but know their date of birth. There are 27 Nakshatras which Vedic Astrology divides into 9 categories of birth stars, namely-

4. Kshema Tara: well being; to assess prosperity. It is considered to have a good effect.
5. Prathyara Tara: obstruction; to assess possibility of obstacles in life. It is considered to have a malefic effect.
6. Sadhaka Tara: aid; to assess success.It is considered to have a good effect.
7. Vadham Tara: disagreement; to assess sufferings or any hardships in life of the person. It is considered to have a malefic effect.
8. Maithra Tara: friendship; It is considered to have a good effect.
9. Parama Maithra: intimate friendship; to assess success and It is considered to have a good effect.
This system also used in marriages to check compatibility between couples. And if it is match then couples gets 3 points in ashtakoota system.
