Rahu (North Node) in 2nd and Ketu (South Node) in 8th house Axis in Astrology

Rahu (North Node, obsession) and Ketu (South Node, let go) are the soul purpose of life. Rahu is the future and Ketu is past. Rahu shows what we want, it is obsession over those things where it is placed in the birth chart. Ketu is our past mind conditioning, it shows where we already dealt with and we don’t want anymore. Rahu and Ketu axis shows that in which area a person is immature and needs to be matured and in which area a person is matured. Where Rahu and Ketu axis fall in the birth chart it shows the most spiritual growth for the person in this life. Rahu and Ketu are the points where Sun (soul), Moon (mind), and earth (body) intersect in the sky. This point is very powerful and it forces us to think about who we are and what is life about. Rahu and Ketu are the forces which connect us with the divine.

Rahu (North Node) and Ketu (South Node) in astrology are the demons. In hindu mythology the story of churning ocean of milk is related to our subconscious mind. Rahu and Ketu are lunar nodes which play a very important role in evolving the human consciousness. Rahu and Ketu are the confusion, illusion, smoke and split thought of the mind. They always help to evolve consciously. They are always on the opposite axis therefore they are always 180 degrees apart. Although they are not the physical planet, they are the most influential forces in our life. Rahu/Ketu axis is the main force of karmic desire.

Rahu is the head who always wants gratification and it is obsessed over those things where it is placed. It is our inner present life desire of this life. Rahu is an obsession for those things where it is placed in the birth chart.

Ketu is the body without a head; it is our past life experience. Detachment, disinterest for those things where it is placed in the birth chart.

So what happened when the Rahu/Ketu axis fell in the 2nd and 8th house. Rahu placement in the house shows the area of life in which we need to develop mentally and Ketu shows the area of life where we need to withdraw ourselves. Houses are the area of life.

Second House: Security, self value, resource, wealth, represents food, speech, family, upbringing from parents, structure and what you value in your life.

Eighth House: Insecurity, fear, transformation, regeneration, secrets, occult science, money of other people, joint assets with the spouse, hidden affairs, death and rebirth.

So what happened when Rahu and Ketu axis fell in the 2nd and 8th house.

This axis is considered one of the most difficult because it connects with the 8th house of transformation.

Ketu in 8th house: Ketu in the 8th is conditioned about his fear or insecurity in the past or in childhood. Life is uncertain, unstable, sudden and shocking in the 8th house.  Ketu in the 8th house gives good intuition and psychic ability. These people have innate knowledge about sexual matters. They have natural talent for occult arts.

Rahu in the 2nd house: Our value comes from our family. The things we value in our life are shown from our home environment and how we were raised in. These people lack of values in their childhood or in their past lives. These people experience life as insecure, stressful and the person thinks that they need to establish solid foundations for security whether it is materialistic or spiritual. As we get older we define our own value terms. Rahu is a rebellious force in the 2nd house that rebels against the value system of the family and defines its own value and structure of the family.

Rahu in the 2nd house makes a person who will work hard to develop their own resources and define their own sense of structure and value. The 2nd house is the house of money. The person can be obsessed with money because money is a certain value and brings a certain consistency. The second house of consistency is in opposition to the house inconsistency and  insecurity (eight house). Eight house insecurities and fears, 2nd house want strong need to have certainty, and solid values that we can define our own. There is understanding in the person’s mind that life is volatile and at any movement  unexpected things can happen. Due to understanding of that area of life the person can withdraw from it and gravitate towards where things are certain and where we get to find values, be valuable and meaningful with our own terms. These people become very money oriented because money gives them a sense of security. They need to develop self-esteem and self-worth of their own effort. Due to these insecurities and a feeling of powerlessness in their past lives makes a person very reluctant to rely on others to help them.

Rahu in the 2nd house have strong appetites. They like to eat well and sometimes they may be alcoholic and used to smoking. Sometimes they also use bad language. But with time as the person gets mature they get better over time as their values improve. Rahu in the second is the most troublesome placement for married and family life. They face the problem of managing their own resources.

These people need to learn what is personally important to them and hold meaning and purpose. They need to look honestly at themselves and define these important values, and seek to apply them in daily life. Once they learn self respect and honor these values, they will stop to undermine others and respect themselves. As you create yourself relationships will improve and you become more satisfying.

Rahu (North Node) in Taurus and Ketu (South Node) in Scorpio signs axis:

Rahu in Taurus: Rahu in Taurus sign is exalted represents artistic, creative, productive and materialistic. Rahu is exalted in Taurus sign. Rahu in Venus sign and Venus is a good friend of Rahu. Venus influences allow it to express its desires properly. This position gives natural ability to understand the Rahu ambition to create something beautiful. This could mean success in areas like the beauty, arts, cloth business, and fashion.

Ketu in Scorpio: Ketu in the Scorpio sign is exalted. Ketu is in Mars’s sign of Scorpio. This is a complex and difficult sign but Ketu understands these complexities as it is also involved in the deep mysteries of life. These people are interested in researching the subtle energies of nature and hidden knowledge. Ketu is without ego and Scorpio learns to break from individual identification towards the final lonely path of spiritual fulfillment.

Rahu in Taurus sign is very good about being resourceful, productive and stable. Here the person needs to be careful not to go negative on Taurus quality. It should be careful about not being materialistic, overly possessive, over cautious and stubborn.

Ketu in Scorpio sign is very good for change (transformation). The person needs to be careful about negative aspects of which is being destructive, vindictive, cruel, suspicious, and repressed. The person should be in the positive aspect of Scorpio that is transformation.

Those with Taurus Rahu and Scorpio Ketu Axis in sign must remember that the path of material satisfaction is as much important as  the spiritual path of life.

7th Lord (Spouse) in Different Houses

In astrology there are many methods to look at a spouse. What kind of person you will get. Whether they will be happy or unhappy, or they will gain or lose after marriage from their spouse. This can be seen from their birth chart. 7th house lords represent spouses and according to the placement of 7th lords in different houses show what kind of relationship and what kind of spouse one can get.

Result of seventh lord in different houses

7th lord in 1st house or in ascendant: When 7th lord is placed 7th place away from itself, and 7th place away means business and partnership. It means a person can marry a business partner and brings great sense of self purpose and fulfillment and the person has bonding with their spouse.

7th lord in the 2nd house: When the 7th lord is placed 8th place away from itself. It means money gained through marriage and a partner will be well spoken and family-oriented. But relationships have ups and downs and relationships would be transformative.

7th lord in the 3rd house: When the 7th lord is placed 9th place away from itself. It means the person gets a talkative, courageous, fortunate, religious and intelligent spouse. The spouse is well learned and has high academic qualifications.

7th lord in the 4th house: When the 7th lord is placed 10th place away from itself. It means the person gains from the spouse. Gain vehicles and comforts through spouses. In the man chart the wife could be working, or has a loving and homey nature.

7th lord in the 5th house: When the 7th lord is placed 11th place away from itself. Then a person gains wealth through a spouse by speculated business. The person is romantically attracted to the spouse and good for a happy married life. But if the seventh house lord is not in good dignity or in enemy sign the native’s spouse may have extramarital affair during 7th lord mahadasha or antardasha.

7th lord in the 6th house: When the 7th lord is placed 12th place away from itself. This position is not good. 7th lord in 6th makes married life unhappy due to many reasons. This person may get sick, quarrelsome and conflicting with their spouse. They have lessons in this lifetime that their soul needs to evolve through by giving service to the spouse.

7th lord in the 7th house: When the 7th lord is placed in its own house which is good. Spouses have good diplomatic qualities, like to make everyone happy, compromising and devoted to their spouse.

7th lord in the 8th house: When the 7th lord is placed the 2nd house away from itself. It means a person may get a good partner and gain wealth through a spouse. Spouse has a strong interest in the occult and gains money through ‘unearned’ sources like inheritance and lottery.

7th lord in the 9th house: When the 7th lord is placed 3rd house from itself. It means the person gets good luck from spouse and rises after marriage. The spouse is supportive and helps in fulfilling duties of the spouse. Spouses can be of foreign or different culture.

7th lord in the 10th house: When the 7th lord is placed 4th house from itself. It means the person may get a spouse who is caring and loving. The spouse could be working and a source of income. And the spouse is career oriented and can be helpful in uplifting the career.

7th lord in the 11th house: When the 7th lord is placed 5th house from itself. It means the person may get a wealthy spouse. The person gains wealth in marriage and they gain money with their spouse in speculative business.

7th lord in the 12th house: When the 7th lord is placed 6th house from itself. This is not a good position. The person might have a distant relationship with their spouse. The person may not have good habits and live in its own world. Spouses can be spiritual in nature and could be of foreign or different culture.

These are the general readings. If any aspect and conjunction with 7th lord by any planet can modify the result.

I just did a math, by looking at it we have only around 7 hours (2659 hours in a year) on average per day to learn and be better. Rest of the time is used for sustaining our existence (8, hours for sleeping, 8 hours for work, 3 hours of routine work). How many hours do we spend regularly on self improvement and learning?
