Love, Is it making our Children Stronger and Smarter?

I have 2 kids and they are growing up fast. I was trying to look at how we interact while learning and dealing with situation in life. I love my kids and probably all parents do (may be everyone has a different way to express love )

Let's deal with following scenarios for our children and see how it works out.. In bottom of the article there are 3 videos from youtube.. how to praise kids, Developing a growth Mindset and How to let altruism be your guide

“Those who educate children well are more to be honored than they who produce them; for these only gave them life, those the art of living well.”  Aristotle

1) Child struggling in studies.
As a parent I love my child and don't want my child to struggle , but not cause them pain as well. Will my child be better off by staying in their comfort zone or me pushing a bit hard to learn and be better. If i don't do that .. they will not perform good in school and may have lack of self worth as they don't know as much as others around them.. so is it wise for me to push a little hard on my kids or let them figure out how to deal with it?

2) Dealing with difficult situations
I think as we grow up we have to deal with situations which are out of our comfort zone. Look around and see how many people around us including ourselves are good at dealing with things that are unexpected and beyond our comfort zone. I think this is the best skill or learning we can give it to our children. Teaching this will be hard as we are always asking them to deal with situations which are out of their comfort zone.  They may not like it .. but they will thank us for teaching them this skill.. I wish if I had learned this lot earlier in life.   We can give comfort to our child when they are struggling or having a difficulty  .. by avoiding the situation  or we can help them understand and make them stronger to deal with the situation which could make things easier in life for them at later stage in life.

3) Dealing with other people
all said and done we have to deal with other people to be happy and successful in life, if we don't know how to deal with other people it will be hard to be happy with family, spouse and workplace. I think this is a important skill to have and we need to teach our kids how to .. other wise they will have difficulty dealing around.

4) Being competitive
I think this is a tough one.. we want our kids to be able to work with other people and if we look a it .. if we are not competitive or watchful of our interest others will take advantage of ... so in some ways we need to teach our kids to be able to work with others and still be able to watch our interest. I think this one is tough as it is contradictory of cooperation, but it is an important one .. I am still learning :-)

talk about learning .. we as adults have a hard time learning thing.. it will be probably harder for the kids to lean how to deal with the situation in hand.We need to use the power of love to make our kids  brave and stronger to be able to do well and be happy in life.

They trust us, if we don't teach them or make them brave to deal with a situation we are in some ways betraying our child trust  as they don't know what is right for them when they are young.

Is love for our children making them stronger and smarter or we are making them soft/ weaker. What ever we are doing ...will they be stronger in life when we are not around them or will they struggle without our presence/ guidance.

DON'T GIVE-UP ON YOUR KIDS THEY ONLY HAVE YOU
Read the following Articles , it will give you insight into your child and probably ideas on how to help them grow.

Moon Yoga in Astrology

Moon is the emotion, feelings, feminine energy in everyone to receive everything around. Moon is capacity to feel, receive and  integrate things around us. Mainly our life is about feelings we don’t think much generally we feel more. Moon yoga is very important to know about ourselves or others as well. In vedic astrology we follow vimshottari dasha which starts from nakshatra of the Moon. It is very important because our thoughts come first in our mind. After that  we take action based on our mental psychology which is built up  from our past life karma. Moon yoga is related to reading of the mind. In Moon yoga we can tell about the people's psychology, and where they tend to gravitate more and how they feel and how they integrate that feelings according to planets around the Moon.

In Moon yoga or mind capacity to receive, feel and integrate the feelings. It is based on the planet that arose before the moon which means sitting 12th from the Moon, sitting with the Moon and after the Moon 2nd from the Moon.

Let's take Venus, if Venus arises before the moon the person automatically gravitates towards things which are related with Venus nature which are beautiful, sensual and comfort giving things. If a planet arises after the Moon means 2nd from the Moon, it means the person able to integrate the things. E.g. If Mars after the Moon the person is ambitious and likes to do active things, able to work out and may be argumentative.  When the planet joins the Moon, it means the thing is joining the mind and it means it is always in the mind and it is the feeling of the person how he is feeling all the time. Let's say Jupiter joining the Moon makes the person have big emotions, their emotions blow up. It can be good or bad according to the sign of the Moon, but Jupiter also affects the person's mind with good teaching and  philosophy, optimism and hope.

When we assess the moon yoga we also assess the other planets sitting at an angle from the Moon. This is called Moon yogas. The planets which are angles from the Moon which 4th, 7th, and 10th placement also affect the mind. Yoga helps us in understanding our mind and the support we get from people in our life. Other factors along with Moon Yogas, affect psychology of the people like Aspects of the planet on the Moon..

E.g. If the Moon in Aquarius sign, When you were born it means your Moon in Aquarius sign. Through the energy of your Aquarius Moon, you have your own unique style of expressing yourself. You can be outspoken, and may express attitudes which go against the grain of conservative thinking. You've never liked the thought of being saddled with traditional roles. You may have a little trouble expressing your emotions or giving in to your feelings, even when they are overwhelming. What you dislike most about emotionality is the fact that emotions do not make sense. When you were born there were three planets forming yoga with the moon.

Jupiter joined your Moon. When Jupiter joins the moon it joins our psychology, you are optimist, hopeful and your energy can inspire and encourage others, too. More likely to think about conquering the horizon ahead than staying in the present moment, you are also quite independent and don't like to think about setting personal limitations.

Mars is in the first angle from the Moon you can be emotionally volatile. You may feel overly defensive, and can react to others in inappropriate ways when you feel insecure. There will be a lot of emotional upheaval and struggle. There to be a lot of fighting with people and partners and an excessively aggressive emotional state if you are not careful.  Owning your anger is also important, and you should find some positive ways to release the anger.

Venus is in the 10th house from the Moon.  Venus is the planet of compromise and respect. adding psychological support through Venus qualities like diplomacy and  peacemaking can help you in achieving career goals. Planets in the 10th house from the Moon show certain activities that help to stabilize our psychology which is helpful in career areas. All of these activities can help to bring about more emotional peace.

Phases of the Moon also affect the mind.

Your Moon is in the Crescent Moon phase of the lunation cycle, indicating a tendency to struggle against yourself in some way. Life itself can seem to press against you, and you may need to spend some time in reflection to understand yourself.

Listening, Speaking and Altruism (Self)

Just spent my weekend trying to have a conversation with my son who is distracted when in his school.  I think this is one of the most difficult task to do for any parent. I think I am able to communicate with my son.. but getting a point across is a tough thing. I have been trying to get his screen time to a minimum as it helps him focus for longer duration of time for his studies, otherwise he want's a break and have his screen time. I frequent www.ted.com and have an TED app on my phone. As you know there are lot of good minds who speak in these events.  ( links below are from www.youtube.com for the content published by TED)

So I did a bit of research and found that
  1. If we can listen
  2. Can speak in a way other will listen
  3. Let altruism be our guide..
We will be lot happier, smarter and joyful in life..

Following are the 3 videos that I asked my son to watch and tasked  him to explain what he thought .. we did a bit of search in the dictionary to understand what words meant in the videos. I would say the following 34 minutes will be worth every minute of your time (Link in the bottom for meditation if you are interested in it)

1) How to speak so that people want to listen ( ~10 minutes)

2) 5 ways to listen better( ~8 minutes)

3) How to let altruism be your guide( ~16 minutes)
