Saturn and Sun Together (Conjunction) in Astrology

Saturn is said to be the illegitimate son of Sun (Surya). Saturn and Sun keep enmity with each other due to their relationship issues. In the zodiac wheel their position is just opposite to each other. Therefore these two planets are just opposite in nature. The Sun is an individualistic and egoistic planet and Saturn is humble and down to earth. When these two planets conjunct in the birth chart there is always a tug of war between them. However any conjunction of any planet with the Sun is very tricky because planets sitting with the Sun are combust. When Saturn is 15 degrees in the same orbit of the Sun then, Saturn gets combust.

What is the effect of this conjunction?

What is Saturn ?

Saturn is our limitation in life. It sets boundaries to what we can and cannot achieve. The nature of Saturn is that we feel the pain and suffering of our limitations and the complex situations in our life. Saturn is the taskmaster, fear based on tangible things rather than just an imaginary fear. Saturn shows you the truth and reality of life. Saturn limits our ability in certain aspects of our life depending upon the sign and houses it rules. Saturn is the planet of the world and it makes us more practical and disciplined. If we want to achieve something in a materialistic world we need healthy Saturn’s qualities.

What is the Sun ?

The Sun is the ultimate supreme light, king of the solar system. if the Sun vanishes everything will vanish. Sun represents soul, father, vitality, power, self-esteem, ego, self-respect, honor, status, and authority. A real king is generous, giving, and humble. Sun gives the order to his kingdom (Sun rules over all the planetary energies). A well placed and powerful Sun gives us confidence, vitality, and leadership qualities which guide us towards the truth of life. If Sun (soul) is not well placed in the birth chart the person faces many problems in life.

Sun and Saturn Conjunction:

Sun and Saturn Conjunction results depend on their sign, house and their degree. If Saturn is strong in this conjunction then people lack self-confidence. Face difficult circumstances and situations in which house it occurs. They experience conflicts and obstacles with authority figures and government. An afflicted Sun makes a person indecisive, low self-esteem and lack in vitality. It creates a lack of power, and gives fear which makes a person gloomy, depressive and not happy with people. As Sun denotes father in astrology. Father always tries to teach you something which you may not like initially but later in life you may realize it is good for you. This conjunction also weakens the digestive system. As the Sun is the fire and Saturn is the cold and humid planet it gives digestive problems. The person suffers from gas and bloating problems.

If Saturn is strong in this conjunction then, the person is serious in nature, organized, disciplined, mature, has a strong sense of order, routine, and down to earth. Saturn always tries to make people humble and generous by giving some difficulty in life. These people are very realistic in life and ground with dignity. They know early on in their life who they are and what they want.

There is a great deal of responsibility and duties where this conjunction is occurring. Saturn puts a lot of rules, regulations, and duties to the person. If this occurs in the 7th House, the person has a lot of responsibility towards the partner (spouse) and other people.

If this conjunction occur in the 4th house. The person suffers from both the side, mother as well as from the father. The 4th house belongs to the mother and the Sun loses his power in the 4th house. Here Saturn is strong enough to make person suffer from strictness, and lack of mother’s love. The person also suffers from family member. Family members are not close and affectionate.

If Saturn and Sun conjunction is between 0-15 degrees. Saturn is combust and does not have the power to fight with the Sun. This conjunction means duty and serving to the higher power.
If the Sun is debilitated and Saturn is strong then the person suffers from low self-confidence, power, authority and ego. There are many possibilities for this conjunction.

Practical remedy for Low Esteem:

Most people feel bad about themselves from time to time. Feelings of low self-esteem may be
triggered by being treated poorly by people in your life. They could be anyone for Ex: your father, mother, siblings, partner, husband, wife, could be your boss or people you are working with. These people infuse negative feelings about you and you suffer unnecessarily. Negative feeling could be anything. Like you are not worthy or you are not valuable. You did not accomplish anything in your life because you always make mistakes. Anyone can say thing to you, like you are jerk or you are stupid.

If you are one of these people, you may go through life feeling bad about yourself needlessly. Low self-esteem keeps you from enjoying life, doing the things you want to do, and working toward personal goals.

There are many things you can do to improve your self esteem.

So what do you need to do? You need to think just the opposite of these things.

Give worth to yourself and give value to yourself. Don’t listen to people who talk negatively about you. Don’’t let people define you. Be assertive ! don’t let people treat you with a lack of respect. Spend time with people who make you feel good about yourself—people who treat you
well. Avoid people who treat you badly.

Try not to compare yourself to other people. If you are at the age of 50 and comparing yourself with the person of age 30 then it gives you negative feelings about you.

The mantra for low esteem is:

"I am a very special, unique, and valuable person. I deserve to feel good about myself."

Vedic astrological remedy for low esteem: is to pour water on Shivling on Saturday and give water to Sun early in the morning.
