Rahu (North Node, obsession) and Ketu (South Node, let go) are the soul purpose of life. Rahu is the future and Ketu is past. Rahu shows what we want, it is obsession over those things where it sits in the birth chart. Ketu is our past mind conditioning, it shows where we already dealt with and we don’t want to deal anymore. Rahu and Ketu axis shows that, in which area a person is immature and needs to be matured and in which area a person is matured. Where Rahu and Ketu axis fall in the birth chart it shows the most spiritual growth for the native in this life. Rahu and Ketu are the points where Sun (soul), Moon (mind), and earth (body) intersect in the sky. This point is very powerful and it forces us to think about who we are, why we are here, and what life is about. Rahu and Ketu are the forces which connect us with the divine power.

Ketu is the body without a head; it is our past life experience. Detachment, disinterest for those things where it is placed in the birth chart. The house that Rahu located in the birth chart determines where there is impulse to explore new possibilities and where to engage in new experience to assist your greater growth and life purpose.

So what happened when Rahu/Ketu axis fell in the 10th and and 4th house. Houses are the practical areas of life. Rahu placement in the house shows the area of life in which we need to develop mentally and Ketu shows the area of life where we need to withdraw ourselves.

The 4th house is the house of home, where a person comes and relaxes. It is the place where we feel most peaceful at heart. It is the house of a mother, and in mother arms everyone feels good and peaceful. It is the most vulnerable house in astrology and if this house damages then the native has a hard time to achieve inner peace.

The 10th house is the house of career, responsibility, worldly status, outer pressure of responsibility, and achievement in life. It is the house of the father and sense of responsibility from the father. When Rahu (North Node) is in 10th house and Ketu (South Node) in 4th house the native is obsessed towards materialistic pursuit and responsibility and withdraws from domestic life.

Ketu in 4th house shows that, these natives pampered so much, and keeps them away from household responsibility. This makes them emotionally secure, but lacks in managing the outer world.  Rahu in the 10th house shows the native is very materialistic and has responsible nature. Because they kept away from responsibility in their previous life they want to learn how to manage the external world and responsibilities. Ketu (South Node) in Cancer in sign: They are good in giving and receiving emotional warmth, security and have very sensitive hearts. But they need to be careful in not being moody, overemotional, very sensitive, hypersensitive, dependent, defensive and non-trusting on others.

Start Predicting Your Future One day at a Time

So you want to predict your own future ... I think we can. Let's take an example of a glass .. if we drop a glass on a hard surface it will break. We have learned that from our past experiences.  So in some ways it is cause (karma) and effect(fate/destiny) kind of a thing.

To be able to predict the future we need to understand what is going on within and around us.  So if there are thousands of variables that are around and based on it we need to figure out what will be the outcome .. it will be difficult on us as we are not used to  managing these  many variables.. So let us focus on reducing the number of variables we need to deal with. The less number of variables we have there are more chances for us to be able to analyze them and come to a fruitful conclusion.

So let us start with a day at a time at a high level. On the bases of what you know lets plan for tomorrow. 

1. At what time you will get up?
2. By what time you will get ready?
1. Get fresh, toothbrush, wear your clothes
2. what you will have in your breakfast
3. At what time will you reach office?
4. What will you be doing before lunch in office?
1. What meetings you have
2. What work needs to get done in morning
5. At what time will you be taking a lunch break?
6. At what time you will be done with your office work?
1. What is important for you to get done for today.
7. At what time you will start for home?
1. Depending on traffic how much time it will take
8. At what time you will reach home?
9. At what time you will play with your kids?
10. At what time you will have your dinner?
11. At what time you will sleep?

There will be many deviation in the starting.. keep on improving as you learn more .. may be in a weeks time you will know exactly what you will be doing every next day before the day start. With time you will build unpredictability into your plan as there could be some surprises along the way.. e.g suddenly there may be a change in priority at office .. there  may be a traffic jam on the way to or from office.

(for people managing home.. there are kids who will induce unpredictability in your life.. you need to balance between nurturing and managing unpredictability of kids. Encouraging unpredictability in  kids is neither good for kids or you.. The sooner we make our kids understand predictability the better they will be in life  )

Since you know better, if life throws a curve ball at you.. You will be able to calmly think through and deal with it as you know what is happening in a day and how you can manage/ prioritize for the surprise.

The more we understand the variables effecting us the more we will be able to manage and predict the next day. You will feel that you have some control over your life in the given environment.

The less we do we have fewer things to manage and hence more predictability, the more things we do the more thing can go wrong..

Extend this predictability to a WEEK , then to a MONTH, then to a YEAR, then to MULTI YEARS and then possibly to LIFE.

People and world around you may want to make your life unpredictable, but you need to manage  your plan make adjustments based on the what you know and what you can do. Without a plan we are just drifters and will feel miserable.

The most unpredictable thing is our mind, anger , laziness.. do meditation.. it helps you calm your mind connects different part of your brain for you to be able to analyze your situation better and react to it.  Different part of our brain matures/connects with age. Mediation speeds up the process.

So at a high level if we engage in KARMA we will be able to predict our future at-least in the short term and as we get better we can predict long-term future as well. If we can predict the future then we know to some extent what is in our FATE/DESTINY.

If we cannot predict for a day and manage it.. we are drifting through life .. it  may turn out to be good or bad .. but surely will be unpredictable which will make your life miserable as our MIND wants to be calm .. unpredictability will make it think randomly which is unsettling.

If we look at spirituality at a high level .. it wants to make things less predictable because you have control over your mind.. you are in sync with the universe , you are not over consuming  , you are a giver .. the more we want to take away from others the world will become challenging. For better predictability we need to set our goals manageable and work through it.. 

Give GOD/UNIVERSE less to do by managing your life better and only ask for help when really needed that way you have better chance of getting the help you need.  Imagine that we are asking 20 things in a day from the UNIVERSE .. when will UNIVERSE have time to help you when you really need it :-).

We have desires to be successful and achieve happiness in life. Someone has a desire to have a home, to have a home some prerequisite needs to be met before we can have the home. For a believer in fate will not know exactly how they will get a home... they think that somehow fate will figure out how to give them a home and they will be there to have it..

The main prerequisite to have a home will be to have the money to buy or have a down payment for the house.

Will it workout by itself.. with no effort.. infact Fate will need to figure out how to make it happen for you as you need to have money. How many time it has happened that you have desired for something and it just appeared in front of you with no conditions attached? (for rich folks their parents can give them the gift ).  For all the non rich people that's not happening..  So fate needs to figure out how to get the money to you :-). If Fate has to work in the easiest possible way.. it will be to win a lottery :-) for you. To win a lottery one needs to buy a lottery. If we don't buy a ticket of a lottery there is no way we will win the lottery. So in some way you need to help Fate help you..in a way the more we help fate the better the chances.. So it boils down to KARMA.

Luck has been defined by some as being the right person at the time in the right place to be able to have it. So in some ways we need to be engaged in life do KARMA to be able to be lucky.

Following is a high level sequence of thing that needs to work out based on dependency on each other starting for having the money for down payment.

1) Have money to pay the down payment

2) To have money you need to save money

3) To save money you need to have money

4) To have money we need to worth something to society and work

5) To be worth something to society we need to have some skills and apply.

6) To have some skills we need to work or learn or study.

7) To study or work we need find out which skills are in demand.

8) To know what skills are in demand we need to do our own research or have guidance.

9) To have guidance we need to humble enough to listen to someone.
10) To be able to listen and think through we need to have clear and absorbing mind.

so overall.. we need the following skills(there could be lot more).. anyone who lacks in the following skills will have a hard time achieving what they want to or buy a home. We cannot be perfect in all of the following, it is constant learning.. anyone lacking these skill and not willing to work on them.. will always have a fate as a reason..

1. Good listener
2. Be a Saver. Saving money is not easy.
3. No Ego, but have pride
4. Able to conveniently interact with people
5. Respect people
6. Be organized
7. Meditate or have a focus
8. Be a good learner
9. Be good, helping people (not selfish, but not let anyone take advantage of themselves).

For individual desires there are different skills required and dependency .. when we don't know the dependency and skills required for something to achieve... We voice FATE as the reason for not to be able to achieve a certain goal/desire.

One aspect of Spiritualism is to live in present and do the best we can do.. past is past and we need to move on.

For a week mind .. we use FATE as a reason to let go the unfortunate past/present ..  move forward and live in the moment. 

Being Responsible for all the action is a big responsibility.. when most of us are not able to take care of what is expected from us  in daily life.. how will we be able to take the responsibility for the whole life. We don't have the skills required to be righteous,  we have no control over our desire , anger and feelings than how we will be able to achieve happiness in life.. for this reason FATE is like a escape path most of us take.

We have lost connection between KARMA and DESIRE.. we are told to desire less so we need to do less KARMA.. we cannot become BHIKSHU  in today's world.. We need to engage in today's world .. we cannot escape it.. May be the definition of Spirituality needs to update a bit with the changing world of today.. We need to engage in KARMA.. without KARMA our civilization would not have achieved this level of prosperity and advancement.. We need to engage in KARMA and lean along the way to be  righteous, there always will be people trying to pull you down , challenge you and distract you.. but it is your FATE/DESTINY which is at stake ..  You can understand your circumstances and start working on your desires May be we need to desire less or more .. When we engage in KARMA we will know what we can achieve. Rich and connected people will have a head start in materialistic things. Everyone has a advantage when they look at their circumstances.
