By definition we and significant other is a balance that we need to achieve in life. 

Now Imagine that we have to deal with someone opposite which is our own mirror opposite reflection (this may not be if there is a friendly influence) in opinion every day. 

e.g You may have a desire and want to do something today morning... now your spouse want to do it in the evening or just don't want to do it  or want to do it next day. In some ways most of us constantly needs to work on the relationship, for those who have good relationships may be working on it subconsciously.  For those who are having issues and hard times.. probably this should be an indicator to start managing the relationship with more thoughts than emotions. In Love marriages we bringing emotions first in the relationships , so it makes it hard to come to the common grounds. 

e.g If one is optimist for now reason the other person becomes overly pessimist, If one person is into over spending then the other person will be overly thrift. They don't want to be overly pessimist or thrift, they are just trying to balance it and messing up the relationship.. So if we are balanced that is  one step in the right direction.

Some of the things that i have learned with time is..

1) Be a good listener. Most of the arguments happen when one person does not listen/understand completely and start arguing. Try it out u'll be surprised that how many arguments can be avoided. 

2) Life is a joint venture.. the more you stay together the more you will realize. Help where ever you can in some ways you are helping yourself.

3) We need to help each other grow. If we are not helping that is a good enough reason for people to start having distance from each other.

 
Why 2 people with same aim of having a better life are not reasonable enough to agree on things that will effects both of them and their future.

I recently was watching a program on how male and female brain works. We are wired differently since evolution..but when we look in professional environment then it may not be that different, but when we are in personal relationships then probably those things surface up.

In more cases as compared to men, women are better with colors.. So women's should stop expecting men to be able to have a conversation on fineness of colors.

In More cases Women are better with the faces.. they can remember more faces than men.. So if men keep on forgetting the people and how they look like you should not press hard for it.

It is perceived that Men are  good at dealing with directions, structural , trying to fix things can focus on one task at a time to complete it..

Since some of the skills are complementary it makes both as a winning team when they work together. In today's world we need to lean each others skills to be able to support our family and prosper. MAKE IT A WINNING TEAM rather than self defeating as there are so many differences that it is hard to get along sometimes/

Figure out the best way possible to do the daily/routine tasks , that will reduce the on going  arguments and stress in life.
