At some point in life everyone thinks about their life partner. Mostly they are curious about nature,  behavior and what kind of mental outlook of the spouse they will get. There are many methods from which we can find about the nature and mental outlook of the spouse in astrology.

Generally in astrology there are two marriage significator planets which define what type of  partner they will get. Jupiter and Venus are the most important planets when we look for married life. Jupiter is the husband in a woman chart and Venus is the wife in a man chart. By looking at the house in which these planets are placed one can tell about the place where one can meet their spouse and by their sign placement one can tell about the temperament of the spouse. 

If a woman has Jupiter in Cancer sign in the 12th house it means the women will get a husband in foreign land who will be very rich because 12th house represents foreign land and Jupiter exalted in Cancer sign.

If a man has Venus in the 11th house in the sign of pisces it means the person gets a spouse in a social circle who is very loving and spiritual in nature.

Next one should look for the darakaraka in Jamini astrology. Darakaraka is the planet which has the lowest degree in the birth chart which signifies the nature of the spouse. Depending on which planet has the lowest degree the person gets a spouse according to the planet's nature.

(Rahu and Ketu are not considered Darakaraka, because they are not the physical planet.)

Next one should look for the seventh house ruler. Seventh house is the spouse house and it is different for different Ascendant. Like e.g. For Cancer, ascendant Saturn is the ruling planet for the seventh house, because capricorn signs fall in the 7th house. According to that one can judge about their spouse's nature and much more. If there is any planet, a place in the seventh house can show the environment of married life. 

Following are the effects of planets in the seventh house and if they are darakaraka in the chart and if they are ruler lords of the seventh house.

Sun: The person gets a spouse who has status, leadership quality, stability, steadiness and intelligence. They want too much attention and the person will put a lot of importance on relationships. 

Moon:  The person gets a spouse who is very emotional, sensitive, moody and ready to adjust with others .The person has a lot of strength to compromise with partners and others in general. 

Mars:  The person gets a spouse who is very very logical, adventurous, and has strong will power. The person inclined towards who can accomplish work very fast. The person can be very individualistic and argumentative. 

Mercury: The person gets a spouse who is very communicative with others. Mercury is a fun loving planet. It is like enjoying more than hard work and commitment. These people get a spouse who is very fun loving and enjoys life. 

Jupiter:  The person gets a spouse who is very optimistic and hopeful about others.These people often get partners who behave like a teacher in their relationships and with others.

Venus: The person will get a spouse who has a lot of romantic desires. Generally they want or get a beautiful partner. The person is very romantic and likes to compromise with the partner.

Saturn: The person gets a serious and older partner who is very committed in relationships. They are least romantic people but very loyal to their partners. These people are not easily adjusted and very firm in decisions.

Rahu is the disruptive force that creates problems where it sits. Rahu in the seventh house the person gets a partner or the person is very immature about relationship and  attention seeker. 

Ketu in the seventh house and the person gets a partner or the person itself is very critical to the partners. The person preferring solitude and the freedom to explore themselves without being defined by others.
